Saint John Energy is inviting applications for the role of "Planning, Scheduling and Ops Support Lead" until 2:00pm on Tuesday, December 9, 2025.

The Planning, Scheduling and Ops Support Lead will provide leadership in the production, development and maintenance of daily and project schedules spanning the Operations Departments as well as providing general departmental administrative support.

The Lead will provide direction to the Scheduler/Planner/Support members daily and confer with the Supervisor of Distribution Design and the Operations Superintendent to coordinate efforts in a complementary manner. This role will also require identifying areas for process improvement within Operations and working closely with the Finance accounting group for invoicing.

Duties:

  • Reviews daily time sheets and work reports to monitor work plan/scheduling status and ensure accuracy of information
  • Responsible for requisition for contractor requirements and reconciliation of contractor invoices
  • Reviews of open Work Orders and Job Numbers, expedites completion and forwards records to the appropriate department in a timely manner.
  • Maintains the computerized Work Order system and other associated systems as may be implemented.
  • Schedules work in collaboration with electrical contractors.
  • Assists in writing departmental procedures as required.
  • Works closely with engineering, metering, and operations staff integrating their projects into schedules.
  • Business analyst for JDE system and operates as JDE system trainer.
  • Quality control review of work order setup.
  • Responsible for the incorporation and monitoring of schedules and milestones associated with major material supply.
  • Provide a Project Controls report with timely, informed, and up-to-date project schedule information including progress, trends and forecasts, schedule and planning input to the weekly and monthly project reports.
  • Responsible for coordinating crew scheduling taking into consideration vacation or other absences.
  • Be available to work outside normal hours for extended periods of time during outages assisting in power restoration.
  • Develop annual work & resource plan and updates monthly
  • Report on various metrics related to annual work plan.
  • Arrange project management meetings with Engineering, Operations and DSO.

Employment Requirements:

  • Completion of post-secondary education in business or engineering or relevant experience.
  • Ability to accurately communicate ideas, instructions, questions, problems and solutions.
  • Always requires a high degree of accuracy and attention to details.
  • Possess a high level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to interact with peers and Management.
  • Professional and resourceful.
  • Strong working knowledge of SJE's MIS and CIS systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Advanced knowledge and use of Microsoft Office products (Excel, MS Project, Word etc.).
  • Must display time management and multi-tasking skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Experience with scheduling software is an asset.
  • Experience or knowledge of inventory management systems is an asset.
  • Ability to effectively manage deadlines.
  • Class 5 Driver's Licence
