Position Overview:

The Executive Director (ED) provides strategic, operational, and community leadership to advance the mission of the organization. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for governance support, program delivery, financial stewardship, human resources, partnerships, and compliance with all legislative and funder requirements. The ED ensures high-quality services, strong internal systems, and meaningful client and community impact.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Governance:

· Provide strategic direction and oversee the long-term vision of the organization

· Report to and collaborate closely with the Funders, Stakeholders and Board of Directors

· Ensure strong governance, accountability, transparency, and regulatory compliance to meet contractual obligations and expectations

Operations & Program Delivery

· Oversee day-to-day operations and effective delivery of all programs and services

· Manage organizational structures, staffing models, and internal workflows

· Monitor service targets, outcomes, and quality measures

· Ensure compliance with funder contracts and reporting requirements

Human Resources

· Recruit, hire, onboard, and support staff, students, and volunteers

· Provide leadership, coaching, performance management, and professional development

· Oversee schedules, leaves, workplace issues, and HR policies

· Oversee workplace safety, emergency preparedness, and privacy compliance

· Manage risk, conflict-of-interest processes, and organizational incidents

Community Engagement & Partnership

· Build and maintain relationships with community partners, employers, funders and network service providers

· Represent the organization on Community Committees and Network meetings

· Lead communication, media relations, and public relations and messaging

· Maintain organizational visibility within Oxford County and Network Region

Financial Management

· Develop and manage the annual budget for multiple funder contracts

· Oversee payroll, financial controls, and fiscal accountability

· Prepare financial reports for the Board and funders

· Manage funding agreements, purchasing, and vendor relationships

· Assist with annual Auditing of internal financials

· Completed quarterly reports as required by funders

Strategic Growth & Impact

  • Lead implementation of the strategic plan as directed by the Board of Directors
  • Identify opportunities for organizational growth and innovation
  • Support grant sourcing and funding applications
  • Ensure programs meet client needs and promote equity, inclusion, and access

*Other duties as needed and identified by the organization

Qualifications & Experience

· Senior leadership experience in a nonprofit, community-based, or publicly funded organization

· Understanding of Employment Ontario, Employment Service and Employment related barriers

· Understanding of Oxford County's services and support

· Strong knowledge of governance, financial management, HR, and compliance

· Experience working with Boards of Directors and funders

· Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills

· G License and be able to travel as needed

Location: Woodstock, Ontario

In person – some travel may be required within Oxford County, London, Elgin and St. Thomas

Employment Type: Contract

Hours of work: 35 hours weekly

Monday-Friday (daily hours could very based on centre's need)

Reports To: Board of Directors

Hourly Rate: $33

Benefits: benefits package to be negotiated after contract review
