As the Recruiting Generalist, you are responsible for facilitating the Alberta Police Cognitive Ability Test (APCAT), conducting Pre¿Screen Reviews (PSRs), performing quality control activities, and supporting background investigations and Behavioral Descriptive Interviews (BDIs). This role plays a key part in ensuring that the recruitment process for the Calgary Police Service (CPS) is thorough, efficient, and aligned with organizational standards. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Schedule, organize, and manage APCAT testing sessions.
  • Conduct pre-screen reviews for applicants using SENTRY and CPIC (Canadian Police Information Centre), and oversee selection and deferral packages.
  • Coordinate reference checks for applicants.
  • Provide support to interview panels throughout the selection process.
  • Assist with scheduling and managing the Alberta Physical Readiness Evaluation for Police (APREP).

Qualifications

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED).
  • A minimum 3 police related courses, including police interview techniques and police investigations.
  • A minimum of 5 years as a Police Officer.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) is required.
  • Knowledge and experience working with Sentry (Niche) or CPIC are considered assets.

Pre-employment Requirements

  • An enhanced security clearance will be conducted.
  • Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications. Education obtained from out of country must have or be able to obtain, an Education Credential Assessment (ECA) for confirmation of equivalent credentials.

Compensation: Pay Grade 8 $ per hour

Days of Work: This is a part-time position.

Days of work may vary based on operational

requirements.

Hours of work: Part-Time (maximum 20 hours per week)
