Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the area manager, the clinical supervisor is a leadership position and is responsible for the daily clinical operations of Mental Health services, Addition Services and the Travel Team programs located in Area 7. Providing leadership to an inter-disciplinary team, this position coordinates and facilitates daily activities, ensuring effective use of resources. Duties include supervising and contributing to the evaluation of staff, providing leadership and coaching to assist staff with complex cases, completing health record audits, completing professional development and achievement of service/program goals as well as facilitating regular case conference amongst our teams. Further duties include taking a broad view of operations and client service delivery and following through on issues that impact the quality of services provided. The incumbent contributes to the monitoring and developing of the operating plan; leads quality and risk management activities of the clinics and engages in program and community development. This position is also expected to maintain a small caseload of clients for the purposes of treatment of mental health disorders. This position would assist in hiring and orientation of new staff and support of students. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. As a Clinical Supervisor, you will provide clinical supervision for a discipline, practice area or service sector supporting clinicians to provide excellence in professional practice and enable quality, patient and family-centered care. In this clinical leadership role, you will provide clinical supervision to staff providing addiction and/or mental health services to individuals, families, and groups. This role involves supervision related to a range of assessment, mental health (psychosocial, and psychological interventions), and other activities. Supervision may be provided to regulated staff, those requiring supervision to meet regulatory requirements for practice, and/or to unregulated staff providing the restricted activity of psychosocial intervention. This may include observing clinical sessions, reviewing clinical documentation and written reports, conducting team case consultations and offering support, and providing guidance and direction to clinical staff with challenging and urgent cases in a timely manner. In your role, you may work with members of the interdisciplinary team, psychiatrists and community partners in support of effective professional and collaborative practice. You may contribute to the planning, implementation and evaluation of mental health treatment services in a hospital setting or community. You may also identify and address gaps in clinical practice as well as facilitate addressing of system level gaps and risk management issues. You may provide support to leadership in the hiring, orientation and performance evaluation of clinical staff.

Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in Psychology or Social Work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Active or eligible for full registration (not provisional) with the applicable regulatory college. A minimum of 5 years' experience in providing mental health assessment and intervention, including restricted activity of psychosocial intervention.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Excellent knowledge of addictions and mental illness. Advanced computer literacy. Above average keyboarding skills and proficient with computer programs – Outlook, MS Office, MS Teams, Zoom, Connect Care, etc. Minimum 5 years' experience in addictions and mental health treatment. Minimum 5 years supervisory and mentoring experience. Experience in the development of procedures. Must be knowledgeable in Motivational Interviewing and have experience in direct clinical supervision. Counselling background and leadership skills and training is essential.
Preferred Qualifications:
Frequent need to be adaptable and flexible as needs and demands of work changes. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires creativity and independent thinking and problem solving. Frequent client crises requiring patience, good communication and developed crisis intervention skills. Support to front line staff.
