Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment rooms with sterilized instruments and supplies, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control standards are maintained.
  • Assist dentists chairside during procedures such as restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments.
  • Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging equipment like 3D scanners and ensure proper handling in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Manage patient records accurately within EMR systems like domtrak, including updating medical history, and treatment notes.
  • Provide excellent dental reception support by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance details, and managing patient flow efficiently.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, post-treatment care, and explain dental terminology clearly to ensure understanding.
  • Support infection control protocols by sterilizing instruments, maintaining a clean clinic environment, and adhering to OSHA standards.
  • Assist with medical documentation related to medical records, coding procedures appropriately for insurance claims or referrals.
  • Collaborate with the team in four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures.
  • Monitor vital signs when necessary and assist with medical imaging procedures to support comprehensive patient care.

Experience

  • Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, especially within general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments.
  • Proficiency with EMR systems such as Domtrak is essential for managing patient records effectively.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensures confidentiality and proper handling of medical information.
  • Familiarity with digital dental radiography including X-ray techniques technology is required.
  • Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques is vital for success in this role.
  • Experience supporting multiple specialties such as endodontics or prosthodontics enhances your ability to adapt across various procedures.

Pay: $19.49-$29.08 per hour
