Our challenge:

Synechron is looking for a Service Transformation Consultant to innovate and modernize service delivery by leading pivotal digital transformation initiatives. This role involves advising executive teams, fostering organizational change, and guiding cross-departmental projects to enhance citizen experiences in the digital age.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance on digital delivery, agile product development, and organizational transformation strategies.
  • Lead and influence ministerial and departmental service transformation projects, particularly within the Ministry of Education and Child Care.
  • Coach and mentor GoA teams, ensuring best practices in service innovation and digital transformation are adopted and sustained.
  • Facilitate strategic conversations among senior leadership to develop shared understanding, governance frameworks, and decision-making options.
  • Develop and present options, models, and frameworks based on emerging practices for digital transformation initiatives.
  • Assess and build capabilities around digital services, organizational structure, governance, and culture to support sustainable change.
  • Establish key metrics and outcomes to measure project success and ongoing performance post-implementation.
  • Assist in designing and operationalizing support models for live digital services, ensuring effective ongoing support.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years
    of experience in
    agile software development
    and
    modern service design-based product delivery
    in large-scale organizations (e.g., government, private sector with 5,000+ employees).
  • 5+ years
    working with dedicated public sector central digital offices, such as UK Government Digital Service, 18F, Digital Service Division, etc.
  • 5+ years
    of experience in
    organizational development
    centered on digital transformation within complex organizations.
  • Proven facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills, especially with
    senior government executives
    .
  • Ability to develop strategic frameworks, models, and recommendations for
    complex organizational change
    .
  • Strong coaching, mentorship, and communication skills to guide cross-functional teams and leaders.
  • Experience managing multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Flexibility to work remotely, with occasional travel within Alberta.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience leading
    large-scale technology change
    initiatives impacting all organizational levels.
  • Experience developing and implementing
    government-wide strategies or mandates
    for digital transformation.
  • Advising senior executives and designing organizational change management plans, including
    capability frameworks
    ,
    workforce plans

    structural changes
    .
