Production Manager – Skincare LaboratoryPosition Overview

The Production Manager oversees all manufacturing operations for skincare products, ensuring efficiency, product quality, safety, and compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). This role bridges the lab's R&D, quality control, and packaging teams to maintain the brand's high luxury standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Operations

  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily production schedules to meet demand and deadlines.
  • Oversee the entire process: batching, mixing, filling, labeling, and packaging.
  • Ensure all equipment and machinery are operated safely and maintained properly.
  • Monitor production yields, minimize waste, and optimize resource use.

2. Quality & Compliance

  • Enforce GMP, ISO 22716, and Health Canada cosmetic manufacturing standards.
  • Work closely with QC (Quality Control) and QA (Quality Assurance) teams to ensure product consistency and traceability.
  • Approve batch records, production logs, and deviations.
  • Ensure proper sanitation, calibration, and documentation of all production equipment.

3. Staff Management

  • Supervise and train production staff and technicians.
  • Ensure all personnel follow hygiene, safety, and cleanliness standards.
  • Schedule shifts and manage staffing according to production volumes.

4. Coordination with Other Departments

  • Collaborate with R&D for pilot batch scaling and formula transfers to production.
  • Work with supply chain and procurement to manage raw material and packaging inventory.
  • Communicate with the management team on production performance and capacity planning.

5. Equipment & Facility Oversight

  • Verify all mixing tanks, filling lines, and packaging machinery meet production requirements.
  • Approve preventive maintenance schedules and ensure prompt repair handling.
  • Recommend new equipment purchases or upgrades based on production needs.

6. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate batch production records and ensure traceability.
  • Generate regular production reports (output, downtime, efficiency).
  • Implement continuous improvement processes.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in cosmetic or skincare manufacturing management.
  • In-depth knowledge of GMP, Health Canada, and FDA cosmetic regulations.
  • Strong understanding of formulation scale-up, batching, and packaging operations.
  • Experience with automated filling and labeling machinery.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Fluent in English (Mandarin or Cantonese is an asset if coordinating with Chinese suppliers).

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $30,000.00-$85,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 30 per week
