Are you driven about basketball and eager to help players get to the next level in their basketball journey? MUMBA Basketball is looking for dedicated and experienced coaches to lead our competitive basketball teams for the upcoming season, with an opportunity to renew for future seasons.

ABOUT US

MUMBA Basketball is an established youth basketball club in the (City of Markham / York Region area) that values uplifting the next generation of leaders. Our mission is to drive character development through multiple levels of opportunity. We strive to create an environment in which every student athlete and coach is committed to the true spirit of competition through respect, integrity, responsibility, leadership and sportsmanship. To accomplish this, we invest in our coaches' development through education and a mentorship program. This will enable proper development of the student athlete through all stages of competition.

JOB DETAILS

  • Title: Rep Basketball Coach
  • Location: Markham / GTA / Ontario
  • Schedule: Part-Time | Evenings & Weekends | September 2025 to April 2026
  • Opportunity to renew for future seasons based on performance

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop practice plans to lead engaging and dynamic practices that focus on players skill development, team concepts, and game preparation.
  • Coach in weekend Games & Tournaments throughout Ontario and the GTA.
  • Provide constructive feedback to athletes to enhance their technical and mental aspects of the game.
  • Collaborate with the Club and Rep Directors to align training with overall team goals.
  • Foster a safe, positive, and encouraging environment for all participants.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ideally minimum 1 year of Rep Basketball, School, and/or AAU coaching experience
  • Has completed, working towards or willing to complete the following certifications: NCCP Learn to Train / NCCP Train to Train
  • CPR/First Aid Certification is ideal.
  • Strong understanding of basketball fundamentals, game play, and techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire athletes to achieve their best.
  • Availability during the evenings and weekends is required.

COMPENSATION

  • Negotiable rate per gym hour, based on experience.
  • Potential increase based on performance.
