We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Payroll & Benefits Specialist to manage end-to-end payroll processing and administer our employee benefit program. This position is suited towards a payroll professional who is building towards increased responsibility and leadership. The Payroll & Benefits Specialist will be relied upon for their subject matter expertise, sound judgement, and guidance on payroll and benefits matters, as well will support initiatives, mentor others, and contribute to decision making within their area of specialization.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Process bi-weekly and monthly payroll & benefits for Company Drivers, Owner Operators, as well as salaried, and hourly staff, and address employee inquiries regarding remuneration.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management and assist with gathering data for Federal compliance initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records, including earnings, deductions, and benefits
  • Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with Finance and Human Resource teams to maintain accurate employee data.
  • Act as administrator of the employee benefit program, enroll new employees, process coverage changes, act as liaison to our benefit provider, and respond to benefits related inquiries from staff.

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • 3-5 years' experience in a payroll position is preferred.
  • Adept at utilizing computerized payroll software. Proficiency in ADP Payroll software is considered an asset.
  • Completion of the Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) Designation is considered an asset.
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Solution oriented approach to problem solving.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to customer service.
