Machine Operator

Job Title: Machine Operator - 2 positions available / 1 for the day shift and 1 for the night shift

Reports to: Production Supervisor and/or Production Manager

Hours:

Monday to Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm – DAY SHIFT

OR

Monday to Friday 3:30 pm to 12am – NIGHT SHIFT

Some Saturdays may be required.

Job Summary/ Purpose:

Machine Operator will be required to operate various production equipment while leading a small team of production associates to complete the run with commitment to accuracy, quality, and efficiency.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible to adhere to and maintain and promote a positive company culture.
• Responsible to lead and motivate a small team of production associates working underneath themon various production equipment.
• Promote and maintain the highest level of cleanlinessinside the production area and facility by routinely cleaning and sterilizing equipment
• Preparethe correct equipment and supporting items forall the production associatesin preparation for the start up.
• Set up, calibrate, and clean machine in advance of a production cycle.
• Lead change overs of machinery and ensure equipment is put back together properly and calibrated.
• Troubleshoot issues that may occur during operation of equipment.
• Executeand leadpacking orders withinHealth Canada standards, Customer specifications, and company procedures.
• Ensure and uphold quality standards throughout production run of cannabis and packaging materials.
• Responsible tooversee andensuredocumentation is correct forthe entire run and all materials match up with specific runs. Including but not limited to labels, packaging/ material specs, Lot #, Strain, Brand, and inspections of product.
• Ensureand reviewaccuracy in data entry and ensure production forms are filled out correctly and consistently.
• Communicateeffectivelywithmanagement and other departments as needed.
• Confirmand reviewaccuracy on reconciliation of materials and cannabis.
• Ensures team adheres to safety requirements and ensures proper PPE is always worn, including by not limited to steel toe shoes, facemasks, respirators, hearing protection, lab coat, and gloves.
• Ensureteamis in compliancewithSOPs as they relate to daily work activities compliance with regulations to the Cannabis Act
• Look for opportunities for improvements, monitor outputs closely,and motivate staff to full efficiency potential.
• Other duties asmay be assigned from time to time

Requirements

• Must be able to read and write Englishand communicate with employees effectively.
• Must be able to lead and direct a small team.
• Must beSelf-directed and motivated.
• Able to perform tedious/repetitive tasks with a high level of quality and attention to detail.
• Physical ability toliftupto 50lbs
• Must have a clear criminal record (background checks will be conducted prior to start date)
• Work with respirator, face mask,and/ or hearing protection for an extended time.
• Prolonged standing, lifting, squatting, and/or bending.
• Long hours may be required on occasionand overtime as required.
• Previous Cannabis and/or productionmachine operatorexperience is an asset.
• Previous knowledge of GPP, GAP and/or GMPregulations considered an asset
• Previous experience leading or supervising a groupconsideredan asset.
