As a Field Engineer, you'll be on site helping to drive project execution, supporting planning, coordination, and quality on complex, large-scale civil and transit infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a thorough understanding of project specifications and budget requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Coordinate and respond to technical inquiries from various stakeholders.
  • Assist the Quality Management team with performing and documenting QA/QC procedures.
  • Perform basic engineering calculations to support field activities.
  • Manage general duties such as printing/plotting, transmittal preparation, project tracking, and submitting drawings to clients/contractors.
  • Provide technical and administrative support throughout all phases of the project.
  • Create and issue daily construction reports.
  • Assist with scheduling and cost estimate preparation.
  • Attend site meetings, communicate directly with clients, and maintain respectful and professional working relationships.

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

  • 2–3+ years of experience in a Field Engineer, Project Coordinator, or similar site-based role within civil construction.
  • Experience working on major infrastructure or transit projects (e.g., SkyTrain, bridgework, roadworks); utilities experience (wet or dry) is a strong asset.
  • Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical considered if relevant experience).
  • Registration with EGBC as an EIT (or eligibility to register) is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear reports and technical documentation.
  • Comfortable working on active construction sites and collaborating closely with field teams.
  • Familiarity with scheduling software and/or estimating is an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
