PROPERTY MAINTANANCE WORKER AT PRINCIPAL DEVELOPMENTS LIMITED

We are a Real Estate Management / Development Company looking for a Property Maintenance Worker, Located in the Halifax Regional Municipality area.

This is a permanent position with a 6 month probationary period. As part of our hiring practice, we conduct employment references, credit and criminal file checks and education confirmation as we determine necessary.

Salary and other compensation

Your starting wage will be $21.00-$28.00 per hour (based on qualifications) to be paid on a full time (35 Hours per week) bi-weekly basis subject to all federal and provincial taxes, withholdings and benefits (holiday, vacation, and CPP and El employer matching amounts).

Work schedule

Depending on the task, you will be working regular hours of 9:00 am-4:00 pm or 7:30am to 3:30 pm Monday through Friday for a 35 hour scheduled week and will be required to respond to calls outside of this time from Sunday to Saturday. Our operational requirements prohibit the booking of vacation time from February 15 to March 31 and December 15-January 5 annually.

Duties

You will be working with our firm as our Property and Construction Maintenance Worker responsible for duties and tasks such as Painting, Cleaning, Yard Work, Site Clean-ups and Minor Repairs and Maintenance (LIGHT PLUMBING,CARPENTRY HANYMAN SERVICES) at our Properties located throughout Halifax, NS.

In addition, you will be expected to respond to tenant requests of basic maintenance (lightbulb, blocked toilets, minor repairs, cleaning apartments during turnover etc.) and any and all emergency situations.

There will be a 6-month probationary period during which you will be given objectives to achieve. Upon satisfactory completion of the probationary period, you will be considered a permanent employee.

You will be required to sign an acknowledgement of policies at hiring and when introduced by management as they are updated and introduced, this is a required condition of your employment.

Breaches of the expectations of the confidentiality and intellectual policy include progressive discipline up to and including termination of employment and any civil proceedings.
