About the Role
Reporting to the Manager, Procurement, the Senior Procurement Specialist is the primary point of contact for all large scale and complex procurement services, including but not limited to IT projects and operations, providing recommendations to all levels within the organization, including Executives and Senior Leadership, supporting and improving procurement processes, and ensuring compliance with corporate policies.
The Senior Procurement Specialist provides support to internal stakeholders throughout the procurement process. The Procurement Specialist supports the operational needs through the provision of sound advice related to the procurement of goods and services, in a fair, open, consistent, and transparent manner, resulting in best value for the organization.
Your Experience & Skills
- Undergraduate degree in business, procurement, supply chain and/or logistics, or a related field.
- A minimum of five (5) years' experience in procurement related roles, demonstrating a progression in responsibilities, accountabilities and seniority; including advanced knowledge of ERP systems (finance and procurement modules) and experience leading complex IT related procurement initiatives.
Please note:
- A 'super-user' level of ERP solution experience would be considered an asset; as would,
- Specific knowledge of the Nova Scotia Government's procurement policies; and/or,
- A recognized purchasing designation/accreditation (i.e. Certified Public Procurement Officer (CPPO), Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) or Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP), or successful completion of training through Supply Chain Canada (SCMP) or the Procurement School (PSPP).
