What is the Opportunity

The Aecon APEX Sr. Specialist is a key site role responsible for driving Aecon's safety vision and facilitating the successful rollout and implementation of the APEX safety program across all projects. This position champions a culture of safety excellence and ensures compliance with Aecon's core safety policies and procedures.

What You Will Do Here

  • Facilitate the execution of Aecon's APEX safety strategy across multiple projects.
  • Mentor and coach EHS and Operations personnel on field implementation of core EHS programs.
  • Demonstrate a proactive and positive attitude toward safety during field observations.
  • Serve as a resource to project teams throughout all phases of the safety program rollout.
  • Support team-building efforts with Aecon project teams to ensure program alignment.
  • Collaborate with EHS to ensure accurate data collection and reporting of project findings.
  • Assist in planning, scheduling, and executing program timelines.
  • Communicate and facilitate understanding of EHS expectations and requirements.
  • Work with the APEX Lead to delegate tasks and monitor progress toward program milestones.
  • Gather and analyze feedback from project teams to assess program effectiveness and satisfaction.
  • Participate in program meetings to maintain open communication between all stakeholders.
  • Conduct comprehensive gap assessments to ensure compliance, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure consistent and accurate implementation of Aecon's safety policies and procedures across all project sites.
  • Provide strategic support to project teams throughout all phases of the APEX program lifecycle.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration and team alignment to reinforce program objectives and outcomes.
  • Manage program timelines, milestones, and deliverables with a focus on strategic outcomes.
  • Assist feedback collection and analysis to evaluate program effectiveness and drive enhancements.
  • Chair site-level program meetings and maintain transparent communication.
