They are the reason we consistently deliver outstanding customer experiences.The OpportunityWe are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. This is a full-time position based out of our shop in Olds, Alberta. Reporting to the Shop Foreman and working closely with our Fleet Manager, you will be responsible for equipment repair & maintenance, ensuring all machinery operates efficiently and safely, and assisting in training junior staff to ensure our fleet runs smoothly.The ideal candidate will have a thorough mechanical knowledge and experience in maintaining and repairing various types of heavy machinery and equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of industrial equipment, electrical systems, and the ability to read schematics.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including company vehicles, semi trucks, skid steers, excavators and other equipment.Diagnose mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.Assemble and disassemble machinery components as needed for repairs.Interpret schematics to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems.Utilize power tools effectively to complete repairs and maintenance tasks.Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed.Ensure compliance with safety standards while working on industrial equipment.Collaborate with team members to improve operational efficiency.Qualifications & Experience5+ years Journeyman's certificate, Red Seal, or equivalent qualification.Experience with on-road and off-road equipment.Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in heavy equipment repair.Field service, simple welding & fabricating experience is considered as asset.Proficiency in using power tools and diagnostic equipment.Experience operating forklifts and other heavy machinery.Ability to read and interpret schematics for electrical systems.Knowledge of industrial equipment maintenance practices.Familiarity with crane operations and safety protocols.Understanding of HVAC systems and farm machinery repair techniques.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.An uplifting personality with a go-getter attitude.Physically fit – heavy lifting is required.Past experience leading a team considered an asset.Equipment in our fleetSemi trucks, Cummins and Detroit.Step deck trailers and Super-B flat decks.LD & MD Pickup Trucks.John Deere Excavators.John Deere Skid steers.This position requires candidates toSuccessfully complete pre-employment screening including drug and alcohol testing.Successfully complete a background check.What we offerConsistent work schedule; Monday to Friday.Extended health and dental benefits including vision care.Life & Disability insurance.RRSP matching program.Company events.Growth & development opportunities.Applicants must have legal authorization to work in Canada with no restrictions.All positions require background screening.
