Overview

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy on road fleet trucks. This role offers the opportunity to work with diverse vehicles, ensuring optimal operational performance and safety standards. Candidates with strong mechanical knowledge are highly preferred.

Duties

  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on heavy trucks.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics, OEM manuals, and diagnostics tools
  • Repair and replace components including transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, and electrical systems
  • Fabricate parts or modifications as needed using welding, hand tools, power tools, and soldering techniques
  • Conduct alignments, tire services, and brake repairs to ensure safety compliance
  • Maintain detailed service records of repairs and maintenance activities
  • Operate heavy trucks for testing purposes when necessary
  • Assist in assembly or disassembly of trucks during repairs or upgrades
  • Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications

Requirements

  • Proven experience and Red Seal in Heavy Equipment Mechanic
  • Proficiency in reading schematics and OEM manuals for troubleshooting complex systems
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, transmissions, HVAC systems, and diesel engines
  • Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and heavy lifting safely
  • Familiarity with heavy tractor trailer operation
  • Strong mechanical knowledge related to tractor trailer and vehicle maintenance
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Candidates should possess the necessary technical skills combined with a customer service mindset to support operational excellence across our fleet of heavy tractor trailers.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $30.00-$48.00 per hour
