Job Overview

BAT Construction is a Canadian leader in slope stabilization and constructions services. We have over 30+ years of success in BC, and across Canada. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of payroll management, accounting principles, and various financial software systems. The Payroll Administrator will play a crucial role in maintaining employee records, processing payroll transactions, and assisting with benefits administration.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Process timely and accurate payroll for employees.

· Collect, verify, and enter data into our payroll system.

· Review time sheets, work charts, wage computation, and other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies.

· Provide information on payroll matters, benefit deductions and collective agreement provisions.

· Compile, review, and monitor statistical reports, statements, and summaries related to pay and benefits accounts.

· Prepare and balance period-end reports and reconcile payroll items i.e. union dues, garnishments etc.

· Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies.

· Provides feedback and assist in implementation of payroll policies, procedures to make payroll processes more efficient.

· Prepare payroll related filings and supporting documentation, such as year-end tax statements, pension, Records of Employment, and other statements.

· Manage garnishments, monthly union reports and quarterly payroll tax reports.

· Keep track of leave time, such as vacation, personal, and sick leave, for employees

· Provide information to employees and managers on payroll matters, tax issues, and collective agreement provisions.

· Play vital role in the implementation of all payroll systems.

AUTHORIZATIONS

· Authorized to perform the duties and responsibilities mentioned above.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

· High school diploma/GED required.

· Degree in business administration, finance, or accounting preferred.

· 2+ years of experience working in a payroll office.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and payroll software programs.

· Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.

· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

· Good time management and organizational skills.

· Working knowledge of relevant legal regulations.

· Able to prioritize and multitask effectively.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
