The Opportunity

Optiom, Canada's leading replacement insurance provider, is at an inflection point. Following a comprehensive operational review by Genpact, the organization is ready to transform how it delivers on its promise to customers and partners. This newly elevated VP Operations role has been created to lead that transformation.

This is an opportunity to shape the operational backbone of a growing national business — building scalable infrastructure, developing leadership talent, and embedding operational discipline across the enterprise. The successful candidate will have a seat at the senior leadership table and direct influence on Optiom's trajectory.

The Context

Optiom has grown to 100+ employees serving dealers and brokers across Canada, and is continuing to expand products and markets. As the business scales, leadership recognized that operational infrastructure needed to evolve from entrepreneurial to enterprise-grade.

Genpact's review has identified specific opportunities to strengthen shared services, improve cross-functional coordination, and build management capability. The VP Operations will own the execution of these recommendations while establishing the operational foundation for Optiom's next phase of growth.

The Impact You'll Make

In your first year, you will:

  • Translate Genpact's strategic recommendations into an actionable operational roadmap with clear milestones and accountability
  • Assess and strengthen the management team — identifying development needs, building capability, and addressing gaps
  • Establish shared services as a true centre of excellence that enables rather than constrains the business
  • Build productive partnerships with IIT, Sales, and Finance leadership, creating aligned priorities and clear interfaces
  • Implement operational metrics that drive visibility, accountability, and continuous improvement

Over time, you will:

  • Build an operations function recognized internally as a strategic enabler of growth
  • Develop a bench of capable leaders ready to take on expanded responsibilities
  • Create scalable processes and systems that support national expansion without proportional cost increases

You've led operations through meaningful transformation — not just managed steady-state functions. You understand that operational excellence isn't about control; it's about enabling the business to move faster and serve customers better.

Critical experience:

  • Led multi-functional operations or shared services in a mid-market organization
  • Implemented significant operational change — whether from consulting recommendations, post-acquisition integration, or organic transformation
  • Built and developed management teams; you're known for growing leaders, not just managing them
  • Worked effectively across functions, influencing without direct authority
