We're partnering with a North Toronto-based manufacturer with a specialty consumer product sold through major Canadian retailers. The business is scaling, and they're looking for a Controller who can lead the finance function end-to-end: from daily accounting operations to cost and margin strategy to partnering with operations on decision-making.

What You'll Bring

  • Ownership of
    full-cycle accounting
    , month-end close, and financial statements
  • Oversight of
    AR/AP, payroll, bank reconciliations, and cash flow management
  • Strong
    cost accounting
    experience (standard costing, overhead allocation, variance analysis)
  • Ability to
    analyze margins and pricing
    to support operational and strategic decisions
  • Hands-on involvement in
    inventory accuracy
    and production reporting
  • Experience
    managing or mentoring
    a small finance team
  • Comfort working in
    private-company environments
    where pace and practicality matter

Technology & Process

  • Experience with
    technology selection + system integration
    (choosing tools, streamlining workflows)
  • ERP implementation or optimization (NetSuite, SAP, Sage, MS Dynamics, etc.)
  • Ability to
    improve internal controls
    , reporting structure, and process efficiency
  • Strong Excel and comfort working between systems, not just within them
