We are seeking a skilled Cable Technician to join our team, responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting cable and telecommunication systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of Ethernet, computer networking, and low-voltage systems, with the ability to work with various tools and equipment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with electrical or telecommunication experience to grow their career in a dynamic environment. This is a contract positions that could lead to a permanent full time potions for the suitable candidate.
Responsibilities
- Install and configure Ethernet cabling, telecommunication lines, and low-voltage wiring across commercial and residential sites
- Troubleshoot and repair issues related to cable systems, computer networking, Cisco routers, and telephony equipment
- Use hand tools and mechanical knowledge to perform cable pulls, terminations, and system upgrades
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure system integrity and compliance with safety standards
- Assist with the setup and maintenance of Cisco routers, switches, and other networking hardware
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while adhering to safety protocols
- Document work performed accurately in service reports and system logs
Experience
- Proven experience working with Ethernet cabling, computer networking, and telecommunication systems
- Mechanical knowledge related to cable installation and maintenance processes
- Hands-on experience using hand tools for wiring, crimping, cutting, and stripping cables
- Familiarity with low-voltage electrical systems and electrical safety procedures
- Experience working with Cisco routers, switches, telephony systems, or similar networking hardware is preferred
- Prior background in electrical or telecommunication fields is highly desirable.
- Certified or experienced in the safe operation of scissor lifts, including working at heights and adhering to fall-protection and site safety requirements
This position is ideal for motivated individuals eager to develop their technical skills in a fast-paced environment while ensuring high-quality service delivery.
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 1 month
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
