Since 1998, Empire Communications has been a provider of Security & IT Business Solutions. We’re a trusted local partner to aid in the design and installation of Security solutions in Southwestern Ontario; we work hand-in-hand with small and large business IT Departments. We sell, install and service VoIP telephone systems, security, surveillance and card access systems.

We are currently looking for a talented and motivated individual to join our Team as a Field Technician in our Security Division.

**Essential Job Functions**:
Technician to provide hands on installation and service of low voltage systems including:

- Card Access Systems
- Camera Systems - both analog and IP-based video
- Burglary Alarm Systems

Responsibilities include working alone or as part of an Installation/Service Team.

Must be able to speak, read and write English proficiently.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and climb a ladder or work on a man lift if needed.

A valid Ontario driver's license and clean Police Clearance certificate is a requirement of this position.

**Basic Qualifications**:

- 2 or more years of field experience in the Security industry
- Experience working with process and/or system design concepts
- Knowledge/certification on DSC, Kantech, Bosch, and/or Keyscan products would be considered an strong asset

**Other Qualifications**:

- Interpersonal skills - working with both clients and colleagues
- Must be able to work in accordance with Health and Safety policies and procedures
- Be familiar with different types of systems, IP and Analog Video
- Knowledge of and ability to interpret and follow installation drawings, schematics, technical - manuals, system configurations sheets/designs, or other technical reference documents
- Should have working knowledge and testing skills using common tools of the trade including but not limited to hand tools, meters and probes
- Demonstrate the ability to document installations and troubleshooting when required
- Data cabling and/or telephony experience would be considered an asset
- Hourly wage: $24 - $30 depending on experience

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $24.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

**Experience**:

- Alarm/Access Control/CCTV Technician: 1 year (required)

Licence/Certification:
