itec group is looking for an Intermediate-Senior level Controls Engineer for a custom material handling solutions and equipment company. The role requires experience with PLC programming and commissioning, good problem-solving skills, ability to plan and work to tight schedules, and a customer focus.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop control system architectures and designs based on project requirements.
  • Program, configure, and integrate PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces), and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to commission new equipment and systems, ensuring proper functionality and performance.
  • Conduct regular inspections and diagnostics to identify potential issues and implement preventive maintenance measures.
  • Troubleshoot control system failures and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Engineering, preferably in Electrical, Automation, or related field.
  • Proven experience (5 years) in designing, programming, and troubleshooting control systems.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming languages such as ladder logic, function block diagram, and structured text.
  • Hands-on experience with HMI/SCADA software
  • Ability and willingness to travel to North American client sites
