Senior Accountant (Hybrid)

On behalf of our client, a growing professional services firm, we are looking for an ambitious Senior Accountant to join their team. They are a modern, high-energy group that is currently expanding and looking for someone who wants to play a key role in their next phase of growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Engagements: Oversee and lead assurance and Notice to Reader (NTR) engagements from start to finish.
  • Tax & Financial Prep: Prepare various types of accounting engagements and handle corporate tax returns alongside financial statements.
  • Supervise & Mentor: Actively manage and support junior staff, providing guidance to help the team succeed.
  • Work Independently: Stay organized and manage your own priorities with minimal daily guidance.
  • Collaborate: Act as a team player who is comfortable working with stakeholders at all levels of the business.
  • Client Support: Handle ad hoc tasks and projects to meet the specific needs of a diverse client base.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience within a public accounting environment.
  • CPA designation
  • Previous experience supervising staff or leading projects is required.
  • A solid grasp of auditing procedures (CAS) and accounting guidelines (ASPE).
  • Proficient in CaseWare and Excel; experience with iFirm (TaxPrep) or Jazz-it is considered a strong asset.
  • Must be able to reliably commute to the Hamilton office or be willing to relocate to the area prior to their start date
