Overview

We are hiring an experienced Marketing Director to lead strategy and execution for a new multi-day festival project. This senior contract role is responsible for audience growth, ticket sales strategy, campaign planning, brand positioning and managing multi-channel marketing activity.

Reporting to the Festival Director and working closely with the Executive Producer and leadership team, the Marketing Director will shape strategy while remaining hands-on in execution. This role requires strong experience in festival, live event, entertainment or cultural sector marketing. Hybrid work; on-site presence required during key phases and fully during the festival period.

Responsibilities

  • Develop overall festival marketing strategy and campaign roadmap
  • Lead brand positioning, messaging and audience growth strategy
  • Oversee multi-channel campaigns across digital, paid media, content, email and partnerships
  • Manage social media direction, content planning and engagement strategy
  • Align marketing approach with ticketing strategy and sales objectives
  • Support PR, communications planning and major announcements
  • Collaborate with sponsorship and partnership teams on deliverables and visibility
  • Manage marketing budgets and ensure cost-effective decision-making
  • Track performance, provide reporting and adjust strategy where needed
  • Lead on-site marketing execution and live campaign support during the festival
  • Work both strategically and hands-on, including supporting content development, social media execution, and campaign implementation when required.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive marketing experience in festivals, live events, entertainment or cultural industries
  • Experience in a senior marketing leadership role managing major campaigns, teams and/or departments
  • Proven success developing and executing large-scale marketing strategies and ticket-driven campaigns
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, paid media, content strategy and audience growth
  • Excellent communication, leadership and collaboration skills
  • Highly organized, analytical and results-focused
  • Equivalent international experience will be strongly considered

Education

Post-secondary education in marketing, communications, business or a related field is an asset, but not required. Equivalent professional experience will be strongly considered.

Logistics

  • Contract role (approx. festival cycle)
  • Hybrid: remote + in-person as required
  • Full availability required during festival build and operations

Job Type: Fixed term contract

Contract length: 5 months

Pay: $3,000.00-$4,000.00 per month

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Toronto, ON
