Job Description:
The Business Planning Office (BPO), within the Performance, Information and Digital Services Division, is accountable for integrated capacity, performance and clinical planning priorities for the hospital, working in close partnership with our Senior Team, Patient Care Services and Enabling leaders and teams.
The Manager will report to the Director of the BPO. The responsibilities of the Manager include:
- Build and maintain strong partnership with clinical and enabling departments across the hospital to understand program operations, business priorities and processes.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with leaders and teams within the Performance, Information and Digital Services Division to advance cross-portfolio integrated performance, planning, digital and innovation priorities.
- Work directly with Senior Leadership and their teams to actively participate in decision making on clinical and corporate operations and initiatives, identifying and presenting opportunities and strategies to improve hospital performance.
- Proactively demonstrate the value of integrated planning across clinical and enabling teams, including supporting the creation of standard operating procedures to enable process reliability and support the development of change management plans to support adoption of change.
- Responsible for oversight of direct reports to provide direction, training, mentorship and performance assessment.
Integrated Performance Planning
- Lead and advise corporate analytics insights planning that crosses the enterprise. This position will provide innovative ideas, analysis, direction, and recommendations to Senior Team, Directors and Managers on corporate performance and/or implementation plans.
- Lead the development and implementation of standard operating procedures to enable a robust bedside to board corporate performance cycle.
Integrated Clinical Planning
- Lead integrated project management of select, large-scale digitally enabled clinical projects. This involves leading end-to-end project management from initiation, planning, to execution, monitoring and controlling, to closing.
- Lead the development and maintenance of all project management tools to enable project success, this includes (but are not limited to) tools for: scope, budget, schedule, risks, issues, resources, stakeholders, reporting, and closing.
Integrated Capacity Planning
- Lead integrated multi-year capacity planning for the hospital, working in close partnership with clinical and enabling leaders and teams to track and update capacity planning parameters and develop recommendations to address capacity gaps.
- Lead identification and alignment of short, medium and long-term provincial health and/or long-term care priorities with THP planning priorities. This includes developing strategic materials and proposals which clearly support THP's capacity story through integrated planning insights and working in close collaboration with Senior Team members and external stakeholders (e.g. Ontario Health, Ontario ministries, community organizations, etc.) to ensure priorities alignment.
- In partnership with the Trillium HealthWorks team, collaborate on integrated performance and planning priorities to ensure future state readiness for the Peter Gilgan Mississauga Hospital, the Gilgan Family Queensway Health Centre and the Shah Family Hospital for Women and Children, specifically related to capacity and clinical service changes.

You excel in leadership position in a fast-paced and ambitious environment. Your excellent communication skills and high emotional intelligence have enabled you to provide strong leadership on complex change initiatives. You have experience working directly with senior leaders and their teams to actively participate in decision making on clinical and corporate operations.

Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a health, public administration or business-related field (or evidence of working towards) required.
- 3-5 years of formal people/project leadership experience, and at least 5 years of relevant healthcare experience.
- Demonstrated leadership, excellent communication, critical thinking, decision making and problem-solving.
- Excellent knowledge of healthcare, hospital operations, healthcare systems required.
- Strong understanding of the hospital's strategic plan required.
- Experience with Epic is strongly preferred.
- Experience in leading large-scale change initiatives required.
- Strong business management skills (strategic planning, budgeting, resource allocation and analytics).
- Strong skills and training in project management. A Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Demonstrated collaboration and influencing skills in a complex, high volume, fast paced environment.
- Ability to build effective working relations with a variety of stakeholders and teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation creation/delivery skills tailored for various audiences including Board to Directors, senior leadership, frontline staff and government.
- Excellent proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and other Microsoft Office tools.
