Honouring its storied legacy, the reimagined restaurant blends tradition with sophistication, serving refined Italian dishes made with premium local produce and exclusive imported ingredients not found elsewhere in the city. From handmade pastas to expertly crafted cocktails, every detail reflects a commitment to quality, comfort, and timeless hospitality. If you share our values and would like to collaborate with skilled professionals, Maurizio is presently seeking a Sous Chef.
Reporting to the Chef de Cuisine, the Sous Chef will work closely with the Chef and collaborate with our amazing team. Ideally, this individual will have expertise in Fine-Dining cooking and will bring consistency to dinner services with seamless transition. They should value authenticity, precision, and flavor balance.
What you'll be doing:
- Communicating the restaurant's vision to all team members and leading by example.
- Inspiring the team with your exciting vision for the restaurant's future.
- Consistently monitoring kitchen operations and cleanliness
- Building and maintaining relationships with team members and front of house management alike
- Following proper ordering, inventory and receiving procedures
- Showing leadership in creating a culture that revolves around the experience and enjoyment of food and cooking
- Demonstrating high personal integrity, business ethics and taking every opportunity to promote the restaurant
- Participating in recruitment and selection, training and development initiatives as well as performance management and employee coaching
- Using conflict/resolution and problem-solving skills
What we are looking for:
- 2–3 years of cooking experience in a fast-paced, high-performance restaurant environment
- Skilled in high-end, visually striking (Instagram-worthy) plating and able to adapt to changing demands
- Strong knowledge of modern cooking techniques
- Experience working with elevated and unique ingredients
- Culinary diploma or degree considered an asset
- Familiarity with food ordering systems and inventory management
- Proficient in professional cooking and knife handling techniques
- Able to stand for extended periods
- Extensive knowledge of Italian cuisine; preferred
