Value & Overview of the Role
- An RPS staff appraiser's primary responsibility is to conduct thorough property evaluations by providing detailed, unbiased assessments of property value based on comprehensive analysis of market trends, property conditions, and comparable sales.
- In addition to conducting appraisals, the staff appraiser ensures adherence to industry regulations and client requirements, working closely with other teams to ensure timely report delivery and resolution of any issues related to the appraisal process. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, appraisers, and internal teams to ensure a seamless process from order to completion.
- Conduct full, drive-by, desktop, market rent, and progress inspection appraisals with attention to detail, ensuring each property valuation is thorough, accurate, and aligned with the relevant appraisal standards and client requirements.
- Maintain productivity standards by completing a minimum quantity of orders per working day within established timelines.
- Ensure high-quality and compliant valuations. This includes compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry guidelines.
- Adhere to turnaround time expectations to ensure timely delivery of appraisal reports.
- Leverage appraisal software tools, such as RPS forms and related technologies, to streamline the appraisal process and ensure accurate reporting.
- Maintain a reliable vehicle in good working condition, ensuring it is available for property inspections when required, thereby supporting efficient and timely service delivery.
- Uphold professional designation and memberships in good standing with one of the three appraisal associations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and maintaining appropriate liability insurance.
- Comply with workfile record-keeping and data protection requirements. Adhere to electronic safety measures to protect private and confidential information, ensuring the security and integrity of all data handled.
- Actively collaborate with internal teams to test and deploy new products, services, and technologies that enhance the appraisal process and ensure successful implementation of product updates.
- Minimum of 3 – 5 years of appraisal experience.
