We are seeking a CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) Operator to join our machining quality team. Reporting to the Machining Quality Lead, you will play a key role in ensuring the precision and quality of our machined parts through inspection processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate CMM equipment to measure production parts using pre-existing CMM programs.
  • Verify dimensions of machined parts using precision measuring equipment, adhering to GD&T standards.
  • Work closely with the CMM Programmer and Machining Quality Lead to ensure accurate inspections.
  • Ensure all seven machining cells follow inspection plans and inspection frequencies; proactively retrieve parts for measurement if not provided by the cells.
  • Create and maintain accurate quality documentation.
  • Interpret CMM reports and provide constructive feedback to the machining team.
  • Troubleshoot and verify measurements using other gauges as necessary.
  • Report quality issues to the Quality team.
  • Assist with gauge calibration as needed.
  • Complete additional tasks as required to support the metrology and quality teams.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of precision measuring equipment and GD&T.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Experience operating CMMs (Zeiss and Wenzel experience is an asset).
  • Ability to interpret CMM reports.
  • Machining experience is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and technical report writing.
