We also wish to do this at the most competitive price to help our customers maintain their rolling stock fleet at a fraction of the cost compared to OEM.
**The Position**
- UCRS is seeking a full time **Quality Technician **to join its QA team in Welland, ON**.** We are looking for someone who will support the Quality Manager and engineering team in activities such as inspections, testing and reporting. Prolific knowledge on reading drawings, GD&T and CMM experience is required. Experience within a manufacturing environment is also required. College or university degree/diploma in mechanical engineering technology required.
The position will be in-person, 5 days a week (Monday-Friday) from 8:00AM to 4:30 PM.
Salary**:Starting $45,000-50,000 **/ year
**Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:
- Perform Incoming and In-Process Quality Control Testing and reporting for daily production.
- Prepare, perform, and file inspection test reports, including investigations and performing root cause analysis (RCA)
- Operate and be familiar with calibration process for all test equipment involved with QA Department.
- Responsible for ensuring that all products meet or exceed product specifications.
- Contacting vendors for various quality related documentation.
- Recognize Non-Conformances and follow procedure per ISO 9001:2015 / AAR M-1003
- NCR Procedure on how to quarantine or reject material per ISO 9001:2015 / AAR M-1003
- Assist in maintaining all documentation such as equipment inventories, equipment verifications & calibrations.
- Operating and programming a CMM (coordinate measuring machine) and laser scanner to inspect parts and assemblies.
- Participate in design reviews by providing information and insight to designers and engineers.
- Internal auditing of control plans and process conformance.
- Perform additional duties as requested by their supervisor(s).
**Qualifications and Requirements**:
- College or university degree/diploma in mechanical engineering technology required.
- Experience within a manufacturing environment is required.
- Ability to read and follow mechanical drawings, schematics, and bills of materials.
- Extensive knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) (mandatory)
- Experience with measuring tools such as calipers, height gauges, plug gauges, micrometers etc.
- CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) programming and operation experience (mandatory)
- Knowledge of different manufacturing processes: CNC Machining, Sheet metal Fabrication, Casting, etc.
- Computer engineering software knowledge: SolidWorks, Polyworks (preferred)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel/Word).
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Motivated team member who works well with others
- Ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden knowledge base.
Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
