Position Overview

Are you someone who believes that every family deserves the tools to thrive? We're looking for a compassionate and committed Family Support Outreach Worker to walk alongside parents and caregivers of children aged 0–13, offering practical, in-home support that makes a lasting impact.

Reporting to the Program Manager, the successful candidate will respond to client referrals and conduct initial home visits to assess needs and determine service suitability. They will build strong, supportive relationships to encourage skill development and positive change, guiding clients through personalized plans and in-home training on parenting, child development, home management, nutrition, and budgeting. The role also includes connecting families to community resources, facilitating group activities and workshops, maintaining accurate client records and reports, and upholding confidentiality and ethical standards.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position will have a bachelor's degree in a related human services field and at least one year of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and training. They should possess strong knowledge of child and family development, family dynamics, domestic violence, home economics, and adult education principles, along with cultural sensitivity and excellent communication skills. The role requires computer literacy, a valid driver's license, access to a personal vehicle, a current CPR/First Aid certificate, and the ability to pass a criminal record check. Fluency in a second language is considered an asset.

This role requires the incumbent to undergo a Police Information Check (PIC), and a Vulnerable Sector Check by the Ministry of Justice.
