Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Snow Plow Operator to join our team. This role is essential for maintaining safe and accessible roadways during winter conditions. The ideal candidate will have experience operating snow removal equipment and possess a strong understanding of maintenance and safety procedures related to snow plowing. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, ensuring community safety and mobility during inclement weather.

Responsibilities

  • Operate snow plow trucks and related equipment efficiently to clear snow and ice from designated roadways, parking lots, and walkways.
  • Perform routine inspections of plow equipment before and after shifts to ensure proper functioning.
  • Apply salt or de-icing materials as needed to enhance safety on cleared surfaces.
  • Conduct minor maintenance and mechanical checks on plow vehicles, including fluid levels, tire pressure, and hydraulic systems.
  • Assist with the setup and removal of barriers or signage related to snow removal operations.
  • Communicate effectively with team members regarding operational status or safety concerns during shifts.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including areas cleared and materials used.

Requirements

  • Proven experience operating snow plow trucks or similar heavy machinery.
  • Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance and repair is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and construction or landscape maintenance equipment.
  • Experience with excavation, irrigation, gardening, horticulture, or landscape maintenance is a plus but not required.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols for construction and outdoor maintenance work in winter conditions.
  • Ability to work in cold weather environments for extended periods.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; commercial driver's license (CDL) preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team during emergency snow removal operations. This position plays a vital role in community safety during winter months by ensuring roads are clear and safe for public use. Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
