This position is eligible for guaranteed hours during the winter months, from 30-35 hours per week.

About the Opportunity

This position is responsible for carrying out a high standard of work relating to the Snow Removal division at Peter Hughes Landscape. This work includes, but is not limited to, skid steer operation, snow maintenance, operating small engine equipment, shoveling, and assisting other departments as needed.

  • Operate skid steers to clear snow from parking lots
  • Shovel snow manually if required
  • Chip ice when needed
  • Remove all garbage and debris from the site
  • Apply ice melt/gravel when required
  • Operates a variety of mechanical equipment, such as snow blowers/sidewalk sweepers
  • Ensures the job is completed in the most time-efficient manner
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment, including work site and equipment
  • Maintains assigned equipment and notifies supervisor of needed repairs
  • Other duties as required and/or assigned by the supervisor

What You Bring to the Table

  • Skid steer experience and/or a valid certification
  • Comfortable loading and operating a truck and trailer
  • Able to work on-call and nights if required
  • Able to work effectively with individuals with diverse backgrounds and knowledge, i.e., clients, contractors, vendors, and other designers
  • Clean and professional appearance, punctual and dependable
  • Ability to work long hours outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Ability to lift 60 lbs. consistently throughout the day
  • Interpersonal skills and a degree of professionalism
