Renison invites applications for the contract position of Japanese Language Teacher in the Sakura Japanese Language School.

Objectives:

The objectives of the Sakura Japanese Language School are to provide an environment for students to enjoy learning in Japanese while fostering the four language skills, to expose students to Japanese culture, and to develop a broad perspective for living in a multi-cultural society. The program provides instruction in simple Japanese to 4 – 11-year-old students [JK, SK, G1, G2, G3, G4, G5 and G6] using Japanese textbooks, original handouts and hand-on activities in the Japanese language, incorporating Fine Art, Music, Life and School Events.

Additionally, the incumbent will represent Renison in a manner consistent with the values, goals, and strategic directions of the University College.

Education:

  • A teaching certification preferably acquired in Japan or in Early Childhood Education/Elementary Education, and/or experience in ECE/Elementary Education
  • Ability to play the piano is an asset
  • Post-secondary degree

Experience:

  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills
  • Strong knowledge of young students' behavior
  • Strong knowledge of teaching Japanese-language as a second language/heritage language
  • CPR/First Aid certification by October 3, 2025
