Dumont Technical Institute, a division of the Gabriel Dumont Institute of Native Studies and Applied Research, invites applications for the following position:

Program Coordinator 1 – Special Projects

Competition Code: S Oct 17

Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Senior PC, the Program Coordinator 1 position will be responsible for the wrap around services offered to current and future students across the province. This includes supervision of staff, streamlining services offered, and ensuring proper student supports are available. Responsibility for interim support for crisis and student mental health issues until the student can be safely transitioned to appropriate community supports. Relationship building and liaising with community partners and other organizations. Report composition, grant proposal writing, administrative and clerical support as required. Travel will be required to outlying areas, a valid driver's license is needed.

Qualifications: The candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Social Science/Studies, Education, or a relevant field of study. An extensive understanding of the Métis culture and the labour market for Indigenous people is essential to the position. Demonstrated experience in crisis management, mental health support and learning disability support. Good interpersonal and communication skills, flexibility and the ability to work with people from various equity groups is required.
