We are currently accepting applications for a Site Safety Coordinator to work out of our Cranbrook construction site. The successful candidate will be working under the direct supervision of the Site Coordination Manager and providing accurate and efficient administrative support to the Site Superintendent and Project Manager. What you will be doing:

Administrative:

  • Organize and prioritize tasks, balancing multiple demands and deadlines.
  • Maintain digital and hard copy filing systems, process timecards, and reconcile visa statements.
  • Handle invoices, packing slips, and purchase orders, ensuring timely processing and tracking large shipments.
  • Maintain site office supplies, cleanliness, and fuel tracking if required.
  • Assist Site Superintendents and Project Managers with administrative tasks, meeting minutes, and expense claims.

Safety:

  • Implement and monitor the Health & Safety Program.
  • Conduct site safety inspections, ensure compliance with safe work procedures, and maintain safety inventory.
  • Coordinate worker orientations, process work permits and participate in incident investigations.
  • Update and post safety documentation, including Fall Protection Plans, Emergency Response Plans, and 1st Aid personnel contacts.
  • Maintain safety boards, conduct toolbox talks, and track required safety documentation.
  • Ensure site compliance with first aid, fire extinguisher, and equipment inspections.
  • Ensure WestUrban employee certifications are up to date.

Shipping & Receiving:

  • Coordinate and schedule site deliveries with project teams
  • Inspect and verify shipments, log inventory, and address discrepancies with suppliers
  • Manage site materials, organize storage, and track trade sign-offs
  • Maintain lock-up security, safeguard inventory
  • Other duties as required to support site coordination and project success

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and standard site practices
  • Intermediate First Aid certification
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record and ability to travel to job sites
  • Strong oral and written communication with attention to detail
  • High computer literacy and knowledge of company policies/procedures
  • Ability to work in high-pressure environments and operate independently
  • Strong time management, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective at gathering and monitoring information
  • A team player with excellent interpersonal skills and adaptability

Extras we like to see:

  • First Aid level 3 / First Aid Advanced is considered a strong advantage 
  • NCSO/CSO is considered a strong advantage
  • Understanding of accounting procedures is an asset
  • Knowledge of standard site practices and procedures an asset

Salary range for this position is $27.00 to 31.50 per hour.
