Envirogreen Technologies Ltd. (ETL) is an established waste management company, leading the way in the treatment of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes. Our permitted hazardous waste treatment facility located outside of Princeton, BC, utilizes thermal desorption technology to treat a wide range of industrial waste and contaminated soil.
The Opportunity
ETL is looking for a
Health and Safety Coordinator
to join our team. The Health and Safety Coordinator works under the direction of the Health and Safety Manager and works with supervisors and other employees within the company to ensure policies, safe work practices, safe work procedures, and regulations are adhered.
The job duties include:
· Active involvement in morning pre shift meetings (toolbox).
· Issue Confined Space Entry Permits, and if required assist in confined space entry activities.
· Conduct and document workplace and equipment inspections.
· Conduct new hire onboarding.
· Conduct site tours for new hires.
· Provide health and safety guidance for workers.
· Intermediate First Aid coverage.
· Assist with incident investigations.
· Participate in training in Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Basics, Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS), Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Regulation, confined space entry and rescue, fall protection, fire extinguisher, mobile equipment awareness, aerial platform training, and any other training assigned by the employer.
· Complete pre/post inspections on all tools and equipment.
· All other duties as requested by the Supervisor or Manager.
· Working in consultation with staff for the purpose of preliminary development of SOP's and SWP's.
· Assist the H&S Manager with annual Large COR Maintenance Audits.
· Assist in the planning and implementation of annual emergency response systems testing.
· Conduct daily H&S audits as outlined in ETL's H&S policies and procedures.
Requirements
· Successful completion of high school or equivalent diploma
· Minimum 3 years' experience in construction or other industrial setting
· Minimum CSO (Construction Safety Officer) certification
·
Willingness to work towards obtaining NCSO (National Construction Safety Officer) designation
·
Experience in SiteDocs digital occupational H&S management program is preferred
· Intermediate First Aid (formerly known as OFA 2) or willingness to undertake this training
· Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office
· Proficiency in written and spoken English, including professional communication skills
· Approachable, considerate, respectful, good listening skills, and collaborative
· Energetic, self-motivated, creative, and a positive outlook
What We Offer
Wage 35.00 to 37.00/Hour with guaranteed OT as part of 7 on 7 off rotation.
ETL has a competitive compensation plan including health benefit package, group retirement savings program, onsite and offsite training, and PPE allowance.
