**The Health and Safety Training Coordinator reports directly to the Health and Safety Manager, and will be required to promote safety attitudes, safe work practices and environments as well as manage, maintain, and administer the Health and Safety program.**

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Engage, train and mentor employees about our Learning Management System (LMS).
- Input employees’ certificates
- Complete new hire orientations
- Work closely with Project Managers/ Operations Managers in all LMS matters
- Conduct field/ site audits as required;
- Assign Green Hand Gold Hand Assignments and follow up;
- Assist with tracking Health and Safety stats;
- Participate in incident investigations;
- Conduct safety training within his/ her scope of experience and certification;
- Ensure appropriate and sufficient safety equipment is available to all employees;
- Assist Health and Safety Manager with coordination of all divisions requirements for maintaining COR Certification.
- Provide support to the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee as needed

**POSITION QUALIFICATIONS**
- Education_
- Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent
- Formal training in Safety from a recognized training facility considered an asset
- Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience_
- Strong understanding of Workers Compensation Act
- Effective communication skills - oral, written & interpersonal
- Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks
- Data entry and word processing skills
- High level of integrity, with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation
- Ability to prioritize when working on multiple projects simultaneously
- Certificates & Licenses:_
- Occupational First Aid Level 1
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License

**WORKING CONDITIONS**

The Jr. Safety Coordinator position is based out of an office setting. This will require extended periods of sitting and extended periods of computer and office equipment use, which can cause muscle strain. Some light lifting of supplies and materials from time to time is also required. This is an hourly position. It is understood that should extra hours be needed at times to meet expectations and work load, compensation for this time will be included in the salary wage.

- Travel required within Cranbrook and the Elk Valley area

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $55,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
