Responsibilities

  • Act as the
    designated Principal Broker
    under RIBO regulations, ensuring full compliance with RIBO.
  • Oversee all brokerage operations, including policy issuance, renewals, endorsements, and claims support.
  • Supervise and mentor Level 1 & 2 brokers, ensuring quality control and adherence to best practices.
  • Review and approve all client-facing documents (quotes, applications, disclosures) for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage carrier relationships (Intact, Aviva, Travelers, etc.) to secure competitive markets and resolve escalated issues.
  • Conduct regular file audits and implement risk management protocols to minimize E&O exposure.
  • Lead monthly compliance reviews and ensure timely submission of RIBO renewals, CE credits, and reporting.
  • Drive brokerage growth by setting sales targets, monitoring KPIs (CPL, conversion, retention), and optimizing lead flow.
  • Handle complex client files (high-net-worth, commercial, fleet, specialty risks) requiring Level 3 authority.
  • Represent the brokerage in FSRA/RIBO audits and respond to regulatory inquiries.

Qualifications

  • Active RIBO Level 3 (Unrestricted – Management) license
    in good standing.
  • Minimum
    5+ years
    of progressive P&C brokerage experience, with at least
    2 years in a supervisory or Principal Broker role
    .
  • Proven track record of managing a book of business exceeding
    $1M in annual premium
    .
  • Clean disciplinary record with RIBO and no outstanding E&O claims.
  • Valid Errors & Omissions (E&O) insurance coverage.
  • Post-secondary education (degree or diploma in business, finance, or related field preferred).
  • Successful completion of RIBO-approved continuing education (8+ hours annually).

  • Superior
    communication skills
    (written/verbal) for client presentations, carrier negotiations, and regulatory correspondence.
  • Proficiency in
    Microsoft Office
    and virtual meeting tools (Zoom, Teams).
  • Bilingual (English/French) considered a strong asset in the Ontario market.
