Overview

We are seeking a skilled 3rd or 4th year Journeymen Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment, including excavators, dozers, and farm machinery. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. The Heavy Duty Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring that all equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Duties

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, and tractors.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues using automotive diagnostics tools and schematics.
  • Conduct repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, and HVAC systems.
  • Utilize hand tools and power tools for assembly and disassembly of equipment components.
  • Execute welding and fabrication tasks as needed to repair or modify equipment.
  • Provide tire service and brake repair for various types of vehicles.
  • Maintain accurate records of service performed and parts used.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations while operating heavy machinery.
  • Assist in training junior mechanics or apprentices when necessary.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Proven mechanic experience with heavy-duty machinery; dealership experience is a plus.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems.
  • Familiarity with farm machinery, industrial equipment, tractor-trailers, and automotive repair techniques.
  • Experience in electrical systems troubleshooting is preferred.
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic software.
  • Ability to read schematics and technical manuals effectively.
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic systems, alignment procedures, shocks & struts maintenance, and diesel engine repair.
  • Capable of performing heavy lifting as required by job duties.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills combined with strong attention to detail.

Pay: $28.65-$49.05 per hour
