We are currently seeking a Lead / Vice President, Payments Operations to develop and oversee the operational backbone of our payments business. This role is responsible for day-to-day transaction operations such as settlement, reconciliation, customer service, technical support, and dispute resolution.

Further, they will oversee compliance related operational requirements—including those related to anti-money laundering (AML) and the Bank of Canada's Retail Payment Activities Act (RPAA).

Operational experience in the payments sector, well roundedness, flexibility, and the ability to work collaboratively are assets you will bring to the role and team. In addition, you will preferably have demonstrated experience and/or interest in the following:

Operational & Compliance Areas

  • Leading daily transaction operations: authorization flows, batching/capture, settlement, reconciliation, exception handling, and merchant payouts
  • Managing customer service and technical support that handle merchant onboarding, ticket resolution, and continuous improvement of support processes
  • Overseeing dispute and chargeback workflows including evidence packages, network timelines, and merchant education
  • Coordinating with third-party vendors, processors, banks, and consultants on operational requirements
  • Overseeing compliance functions connected to AML/FINTRAC reporting, Know Your Customer (KYC) processes, and transaction monitoring
  • Managing operational responsibilities related to the Bank of Canada's RPAA including safeguarding of funds, incident response procedures, and operational risk controls
  • Familiarity with PCI-DSS, data security principles, and operational resilience standards is considered an asset

  • Precise and concise communication skills, particularly for drafting procedures, runbooks, incident reports, and process documentation
  • A passion for operational excellence, customer experience, and building systems that scale efficiently and safely
