JOB SUMMARY

The Operations Manager will be responsible for the strategic direction, leadership and overall administration of plant operations. He/she will oversee staffing, production, health and safety, employee relations, training and team building. The Operations Manager will drive the growth of production, revenue and ensure the quality of goods produced in the facility. Other duties will be assigned as necessary.

JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure daily production deadlines are met and take corrective action as required to address performance, quality, or efficiency issues.
  • Oversee day-to-day operational transactions and activities completed in Epicor ERP, ensuring accuracy, compliance with procedures, and alignment with operational and financial objectives.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing management of a quality control program, including establishing quality standards, monitoring compliance, addressing non-conformances, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and liaison between Production and Office functions (including Administration, Sales, Customer Service, Finance, and ERP), ensuring clear communication, alignment of priorities, and timely issue resolution.
  • Work closely with the ERP Systems Manager to identify system gaps, streamline workflows, improve data integrity, and implement system and process enhancements that support production, quality, and reporting requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve operational processes, procedures, and business strategies to enhance corporate performance and scalability.
  • Meet regularly with department heads and the President to communicate priorities, review performance, and facilitate the resolution of cross-departmental issues.
  • Direct, coordinate, and oversee the activities of production personnel to ensure efficiency, safety, and quality standards are consistently met.
  • Participate in employee relations activities, including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, performance management, discipline, and terminations, in accordance with company policies and applicable legislation.
  • Foster a positive workplace culture by setting and modeling a strong ethical standard in all interactions with employees, suppliers, and customers.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the financial performance of the department, including cost control, productivity improvements, waste reduction, and inventory optimization.
  • Review and analyze operational reports (e.g., inventory, production, quality, and daily performance reports) to monitor company activities and ensure optimal performance.
  • Ensure all reporting employees adhere to company policies, procedures, quality standards, and ERP usage requirements.
  • Increase worker efficiency and production rates through coaching, process improvement, and performance management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 5+ years of progressive operational leadership experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and overseeing a quality control program, including establishing quality standards, managing non-conformances, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and serve as the primary liaison between Production and Office functions, ensuring alignment and effective communication.
  • Hands-on experience overseeing day-to-day operational activities within an ERP system (Epicor experience considered a strong asset).
  • Experience with employee relations, including recruitment, training, performance management, and discipline, in compliance with applicable legislation.
  • Solid understanding of workplace health and safety requirements, quality standards, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence, coach, and lead at all levels of the organization.

Salary Range for this position: $90,000 - $130,000
