Position Overview:
EeStairs America Inc. is seeking an estimating-driven Sales / Estimator to support the pricing and pre-construction evaluation of high-end, custom architectural staircases. This role is fundamentally about accurate estimating, scope clarity, and risk assessment, with sales responsibilities focused on communication and follow-through rather than traditional quota-driven selling.
Projects range from luxury residential to complex commercial buildings, requiring strong technical judgment, disciplined processes, and clear, confident communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate, measurable cost estimates for custom architectural stair projects.
- Produce clear cost quotations based on drawings, specifications, and defined assumptions.
- Complete detailed and well-organized quantity take-offs (Bluebeam preferred).
- Evaluate scope gaps, design ambiguity, constructability, and project risk during early estimating stages.
- Identify assumptions, exclusions, and clarifications required for reliable pricing.
- Coordinate closely with:
- Project Managers to align scope, handoff requirements, and execution approach
- Architects and Designers to clarify intent, details, and revisions
- General Contractors and Construction Managers for bid clarification and pre-construction questions
- Vendors and Suppliers for material pricing, availability, and technical input
- Internal engineering and production teams to validate feasibility and methods
- Research and maintain pricing for materials and components (steel/metal, wood, finishes).
- Maintain organized estimate records and pricing history.
- Communicate professionally with clients and vendors via phone and email to support estimating clarity and bid accuracy.
- Assist with lead follow-up and basic sales coordination as required, with estimating remaining the priority.
Qualifications:
- Education or training in:
- Architectural Technology / Architectural Design
- Engineering Technology
- Construction or Estimating programs with architectural components
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and plans.
- Experience preparing cost estimates in construction or manufacturing.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and estimating tools (Bluebeam strongly preferred).
- Strong time management and multitasking skills.
- Manufacturing experience with metal/steel and wood is an asset.
Key Attributes:
- Strong estimating and analytical mindset; comfortable working with numbers, scope, and constraints.
- Highly organized, structured, and process-driven.
- Takes initiative and can work independently with minimal supervision.
- Calm, accurate, and reliable under deadline pressure.
- Detail-oriented, producing clear, realistic pricing without unnecessary complexity.
- Practical, patient problem-solver with sound judgment.
- Comfortable speaking with architects, contractors, and vendors to clarify scope and risk.
- Able to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative team.
- Strong critical-thinking and decision-making skills.
- Works well in cross-functional teams and contributes positively to team dynamics.
- Ethical and Professional: Maintains integrity and professionalism in all interactions.
Benefits:
EeStairs offers competitive compensation packages, comprehensive health benefits, RRSP matching after 1 year of service and a collaborative work environment where innovation and creativity are valued. We have paid company lunches every Friday, Office closes at 2:30 on Fridays, Annual Holiday Party in December, and employee events throughout the year.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the sales and estimating team through activities such as cold calling, email campaigns, sales and lead follow-up, and scheduling facility tours/meetings. This individual must exhibit precision in calculations, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. They should demonstrate an understanding of customer concerns and be capable of creating accurate estimates tailored to clients' needs.
If you are a motivated individual who thrives in a challenging environment and possesses a passion for delivering exceptional service, we encourage you to apply and join our team.
