Company Description

Reporting to the General Manager of Red Bull Canada, the Senior Vice President (SVP) of Distribution is tasked with developing and implementing a comprehensive distribution strategy and support mechanisms to achieve the vision of establishing the best distribution network in Canada. This role oversees Red Bull Canada's distribution operations and functions, including Distribution Strategy, Route to Market, Training, Sales Processes, and Field Support. The department's objective is to empower Small Format, Large Format, Emerging Channels, and Category teams to drive sales while ensuring Distributor Partners effectively execute the company's strategic initiatives.

Additionally, the SVP will support the distribution strategy and initiatives for the On Premise channel to enhance Red Bull's penetration in this sector. In essence, the role involves delivering the necessary initiatives, resources, direction, and leadership to enable the sales organization to achieve its objectives.

The SVP will establish and oversee company processes aimed at superior retail execution and national volume-driving initiatives. This position is responsible for all distribution activities and execution across Canada, working closely with other sales leadership team members and collaborating on HQ-related projects regarding distribution.

Job Description

STRATEGIC BUSINESS PLANNING

Strategically position Red Bull as the leader in distribution by fostering world-class capabilities, exceptional service, and outstanding execution.

Optimize return on investment while continuously enhancing the organizational structure through efficient resource allocation and long-term business planning.

Leverage data and insights to develop actionable business strategies that identify sales opportunities, offer innovative solutions across both Off-Premise and On-Premise trade channels, and drive superior results.

Sustain Red Bull's leadership position within the industry by effectively competing with resource-rich beverage competitors and navigating an expanding product category.

OVERSIGHT OF DISTRIBUTION

Supervise the development, execution, and continuous assessment of Red Bull's distribution network strategy to enhance the capabilities and performance of the network.

Lead the strategic alignment between Red Bull Canada Distribution and Red Bull Canada Off-Premise Distribution.

Promote effective route-to-market solutions for saturating Off and On-Premise channels and expanding overall market penetration.

Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of designated sales and distribution process improvements across all Red Bull Distribution Company operations, third-party multi-brand distributors, and third-party Red Bull-only distributors, including On-Premise Distribution.

OVERSIGHT OF FIELD SUPPORT

Develop long-term strategic plans for field support capabilities, aligning with Red Bull Canada's (RBCA) overarching objectives and the global framework.

Lead the field support team, enabling the field sales and distribution organization to execute the Off and On-Premise channel strategies and sales initiatives. This involves planning, communication, and deployment of effective selling tools.

Collaborate with the Sales, Brand, Insights, Trade Marketing, Operations, and Finance teams to ensure alignment across departments. Facilitate efforts to enable Key Account teams to successfully sell programs to retail partners and support Distribution Teams with efficient in-store execution.

Enhance the effectiveness of RBCA and RBCD Sales & Distribution teams by overseeing, developing, integrating, and delivering training programs aimed at improving skills, knowledge, and capabilities to achieve business plan objectives.

OVERSIGHT OF SALES PROCESSES AND TRAINING

Ensure a multidisciplinary team comprising members from Sales, Finance, Operations, and IT collaborates effectively to deliver new capabilities in sales processes.

Develop and implement the necessary technology to support and facilitate change management for comprehensive organizational adoption.

Enhance the effectiveness of the RBCA Sales and Distribution team by overseeing, developing, integrating, and delivering training programs aimed at improving skills, knowledge, and abilities to successfully meet RBCA business plan objectives.

CROSS FUNCTIONAL LEADERSHIP

Serve as a key member of the senior Red Bull Canada Leadership Team, providing balanced and valuable insights to foster the overall growth and success of the business, brand, and teams.

Actively participate in a diverse range of Cross-Functional Teams within RBCA at both local and global levels to ensure effective distribution representation.

Lead efforts to build partnerships and alignment with U.S. and Canadian Off-Premise and On-Premise distribution strategies and tactics.

Facilitate communication, alignment, and implementation of objectives associated with Cross-Functional Teams across RBCA.

LEADERSHIP, COACHING, AND DEVELOPMENT

Develop, build, and lead a diverse, high-performing team, incorporating both direct and indirect management.

Foster a culture of excellence within the team, encouraging collaboration and partnership.

Support career development within the Distribution organization.

Dedicate sufficient time to working with the team in both office and field settings to implement and uphold Red Bull standards.

Qualifications

Minimum of 15 years of experience in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) sales; food or beverage industry experience is preferred.

Experience working with a Direct Store Delivery (DSD) network is required.

Comprehensive understanding of Canadian On- and Off-Premise distribution and route-to-market dynamics, including broadliners, wholesalers, and channel-specific distributors.

Experience in managing national accounts at the executive level is preferred.

Excellent negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to leverage business analytics to achieve desired outcomes.

Proven track record as a change agent, leader, and performance coach for talent development.

Self-motivated, proactive, adaptable, and capable of working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Strategic thinker, passionate about achieving long-term success through a hands-on, solution-driven approach.

Strong analytical background with the ability to evaluate complex trends and data effectively.

Exceptional communication skills, highly organized, and adept at managing timelines and objectives. Strong presentation and facilitation skills.

Solid understanding of consumer marketing principles, with experience supporting and facilitating cross-departmental collaboration between sales and marketing.
