Financial Analyst

Classification: Exempt

Summary/Objective

The Financial Analyst collects and analyzes internal and external financial information to evaluate the company's financial position, how financial decisions will impact short- and long-term growth, and make financial recommendations. The Financial Analyst also supports other financial functions, including budget preparation, profitability analysis, support audit requests and the invoicing process, and works with the Finance Team to accomplish other interdepartmental goals and quotas.

Essential Functions/ Responsibilities

1. Provide financial analysis support to various areas of the company.
2. Perform variance analyses, identify trends, and make recommendations for financial improvements.
3. Prepare detailed annual financial budget and monthly financial forecasts.
4. Data entry, processing and recording of transactions, preparation of monthly customer bills, updating the general ledger for daily and monthly transactions, and collection of receivables.
5. Assist with preparation of weekly, monthly and quarterly financial analysis schedules of actual vs. budget variances.
6. Work with internal audit team to design and develop internal audit procedures relating to contractual billings, revenue recognition, and month end reporting.
7. Prepare detailed financial reconciliations on daily basis and follow-up on the differences with different departments.
8. Assist the Finance Team with ad hoc projects.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not have any supervisory responsibility or direct reports.

Education and Experience

1. A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field.
2. 2+ years financial analyst experience.
3. Excellent proficiency in Excel with ability to query and analyze large amounts of financial data.
4. Efficient and organized.
5. Excellent communication and collaboration skills – proven ability to professionally interface with functional teams including Operations and IT, as well as third party providers/clients.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers and smartphones.

Physical Demands

This role requires sitting or standing at a computer workstation for extended periods of time.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
