Dakota Dunes Thermal Spa is a world-class destination featuring our NEW one of a kind INDIGENOUS themed THERMAL WATERS SPA that features expansive thermal waters, spa rituals, day spa services, and inspired food & beverage offerings. We are seeking a Spa General Manager to join our team now to help open, and lead, our dynamic team and oversee all aspects of operations—from the thermal waters and day spa services to wellness programs and food & beverage outlets.

Position Overview

The Spa General Manager will provide strategic leadership and operational direction for all facets of the spa. This role requires a balance of visionary leadership, operational excellence, and hands-on engagement to ensure an elevated guest experience, cohesive team culture, and strong financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse team across thermal waters, spa, guest services, and F&B operations.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and team culture.
  • Manage departmental heads for Thermal Waters, Day Spa, F&B, Laundry, and Maintenance.
  • Conduct regular management and all-staff meetings to align goals and sustain a positive, transparent culture.
  • Ensure facility cleanliness, safety, and maintenance meet the highest standards.

Operations Excellence

  • Oversee daily operations across all guest areas, ensuring a seamless and exceptional guest journey.
  • Maintain and update SOPs for pools, saunas, and hydrothermal experiences.
  • Ensure health and safety compliance and continuous team training.
  • Monitor guest flow and satisfaction; respond promptly to feedback.
  • Lead innovation in wellness offerings, spa rituals, and guest programming.

Food & Beverage Oversight

  • Collaborate with culinary leadership to align menus and experiences with wellness philosophy.
  • Oversee F&B quality, presentation, and cost control.
  • Develop cross-promotions between spa and dining (e.g., wellness packages, après-spa experiences).

Financial & Administrative Management

  • Oversee budgets, forecasts, and monthly P&L reporting.
  • Approve scheduling, payroll, and inventory management.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (attendance, revenue per guest, retail capture, etc.) and implement strategies for continuous improvement.

Sales & Marketing Leadership

  • Partner with marketing to design and execute seasonal promotions, events, and loyalty programs.
  • Maintain digital presence and social media consistency.
  • Build partnerships with tourism organizations, hotels, and local businesses to increase brand awareness and visitation.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in a spa, resort, or hospitality environment.
  • Proven track record in managing multi-department operations (spa, thermal waters, or F&B preferred).
  • Strong financial acumen and team development skills.
  • Passion for wellness, guest experience, and creating memorable environments.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
