Position Overview

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for identifying, attracting, and hiring top talent to meet organizational staffing needs. This role involves managing the full recruitment lifecycle, building relationships with candidates and hiring managers, and ensuring a positive candidate experience throughout the hiring process.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment and Sourcing

  • Develop and execute comprehensive recruitment strategies for various roles across the organization
  • Source candidates through multiple channels including job boards, social media, networking events, and referrals
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates for current and future openings
  • Conduct initial candidate screenings and interviews to assess qualifications and cultural fit

Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with hiring managers to understand role requirements, team dynamics, and hiring timelines
  • Provide guidance on job descriptions, interview processes, and selection criteria
  • Facilitate communication between candidates and hiring teams throughout the process
  • Present qualified candidates to hiring managers with detailed assessments and recommendations

Process Management

  • Coordinate interview schedules and logistics for all parties involved
  • Manage candidate communications and provide timely updates throughout the process
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies during recruitment
  • Track and analyze recruitment metrics to optimize hiring processes and strategies
  • Lead and participate in various recruitment initiatives

Candidate Experience

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for candidates throughout the hiring process
  • Provide feedback and maintain professional relationships with both successful and unsuccessful candidates
  • Ensure all interactions reflect positively on the company brand and values
  • Manage offer negotiations and onboarding coordination for successful hires

Other

  • Assist with HR projects and initiatives (outside of recruitment) as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in talent acquisition, recruiting, or HR roles
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems and recruitment software

Competencies

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Proficiency in using social media and professional networks for recruiting
  • Knowledge of employment law and hiring best practices
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong analytical skills for tracking recruitment metrics and making data-driven decisions

Working Conditions

  • Primary office location with travel to sites across Ontario and US as needed
  • Standard business hours with flexibility required for strategic priorities
