Company Description

Auto Service Group (ASG) was built through six acquisitions and now consists of six brands, 29 locations across Ontario and is focused on the service and repair of cars, light vans, trucks and fleets.

ASG is seeking to add talent to our growing investments team in Vaughan, ON. The Associate will play a key role in supporting both the accounting and investment processes within the group. The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting, combined with experience in corporate development and private equity. As an Associate, you will work alongside seasoned investment and operational professionals to analyze opportunities, execute strategic initiatives, and monitor portfolio performance within the automotive aftermarket services sector.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed analysis of financial statements and key metrics for the automotive aftermarket service businesses.
  • Prepare and review financial models, projections, and valuation analyses for new investment opportunities and acquisitions.
  • Support the execution of transactions, including financial, operational, documentation and strategic due diligence.
  • Collaborate closely with accounting and operations teams to enhance reporting processes and ensure accurate, timely financial information.
  • Monitor the financial and operational performance of portfolio companies, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Conduct market research and industry analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities in the automotive services sector.
  • Prepare presentations, investment memoranda, and reports for the investment committee and senior
  • leadership.
  • Apply best practices in reporting, financial analysis, and information management.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in accounting, ideally complemented by exposure to corporate development and/or private equity.
  • Experience working within an investment corporation, private equity firm, or corporate development group.
  • CPA designation (or progress toward it) is highly preferred.
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field;
  • Strong understanding of financial modeling and valuation techniques.
  • Investment mindset, self-starter, team-oriented, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a high-expectation environment.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze incomplete or ambiguous information to form a clear point of view.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
