Salary Grade: 14 ($87,992 - $109,990 annually)

The Specialist, Marketing Content Strategy plays a pivotal role in shaping Alectra's Customer Experience by developing clear, relevant, and insight-driven content. This content strengthens customer understanding, engagement, and action in energy decisions. Collaborating cross-functionally with Customer Service, Customer Insights, and Leadership teams, you will lead the creation of compelling narratives that simplify complex energy concepts, electrification opportunities, and value-added programs for diverse audiences. These narratives will span thought-leadership pieces, targeted marketing, and customer experience touchpoints.

What you'll do

Content Development and Strategy

  • Develop strategic marketing content that enhances clarity and effectiveness across targeted marketing campaigns and customer experience touchpoints, including email, web, videos, and webinars.
  • Craft segmented narratives for residential and commercial audiences to drive emotional resonance and clarity of next steps, tailored by demographics, social values, affluency, and sectors.
  • Create success stories through testimonials and case studies that highlight real customer experiences, illustrating financial, convenience, environmental, and social benefits.

Thought Leadership and Education

  • Lead the development of a commercial and industrial thought-leadership series across various communication channels, educating and motivating business decision-makers about new and retrofit opportunities to enhance productivity and reduce energy costs.

Support and Optimization

  • Support Alectra's voice and chat channels by optimizing customer-centric agent scripts, chatbot dialogues, and coaching materials to improve clarity, consistency, and ease of interaction.
  • Utilize research and omni-channel data insights to continuously test, refine, and elevate creative messaging across outreach campaigns and customer experience channels.

Collaboration and Innovation

  • Work closely with operations, designers, and corporate communications to ensure narrative relevance, brand strength, and cohesion across channels.
  • Stay current on evolving AI and creative technologies, experimenting with new methods to enhance storytelling and production.

Who you are

Education & Technical Knowledge

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or Journalism.

Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in digital content creation and copywriting across commercial and residential industries.
  • Online portfolio demonstrating creative range and impact on growth, customer satisfaction, and/or loyalty.
  • Experience collaborating with marketing, creative designers, market research, or sales.
  • Experience with AI-powered prompt engineering automation and workflow platforms (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Jasper, , Zapier, n8n) is an asset.

Skills/Abilities/Competencies

  • Exceptional writing and storytelling skills across digital formats (thought leadership pieces, e-blasts, web pages, webinars, etc.).
  • Ability to translate data and complex topics into clear and engaging narratives for non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency in adapting tone and voice to different audiences, channels, and brand guidelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to use segmentation frameworks, personas, and customer research to tailor messaging and increase relevance.
  • Experience with A/B testing, content experimentation, and iterative improvements.
  • Competence in prioritizing content opportunities based on business goals, customer research, and omni-channel data-driven insights.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and deadlines.
  • Open, curious mindset—eager to learn and explore new creative technologies.

Compensation

  • At Alectra, Compensation for non-union positions is determined within a defined salary range for each role. Placement within the salary range depends on several factors, including qualifications, relevant experience, and alignment with the role's requirements. We consider internal equity and market competitiveness to ensure fairness and consistency across the organization.
