Job Description

Job Summary: The Credit Specialist will be responsible for applying payments to customer accounts; contacting customers with past due balances to obtain payment; resending copies of invoices and statements to customers when requested; investigating any collection issues to ensure accurate collection information.

Job Responsibilities

Credit/Administrative

  • Maintain accurate credit and collection files for customer accounts. 
  • Liaison with customer to assist with misc. requests.

Credit

  • Pull credit reports and obtain trade references for new or existing customers. 
  • Obtain credit memos from sales support, the order center or the billing department depending on the invoice issue.

Aging Clean-up

  • Rebill offsets and approved write offs.
  • Research PO variances.
  • Contact customers on past due invoices

Cash Applications

  • Assist Credit Specialist with customer payments when needed.
  • Communicate cash app discrepancies to customer and need for payback.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in accounting or finance is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Demonstrated time management skills, with ability to multi task and prioritize.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, professional attitude, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Self-starter with the ability to identify issues and escalate them accordingly and appropriately.
  • Demonstrated ability to use computer programs such as Microsoft Office product.
  • Highly Proficient with MS Office(Outlook, Word, Excel, Access) and JD Edwards/Oracle
  • Highly effective Team Player with the ability to communicate with all audiences.
  • Effective Customer Service skills in order to communicate accurately and effectively with our internal and external customers.
  • This is a fully on-site opportunity.
