Skimo Canada is currently looking for talented individuals interested in helping grow and govern Ski Mountaineering in Canada.

At the moment we are most focused on improving our financial expertise. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is interested in taking a leadership role with the following main responsibilities:

  • chairing and guiding our finance committee
  • coordinating with federal organizations such as Sport Canada regarding grants and support
  • coordinating CRA submissions, financial statement review by a CPA, and related tasks

At a high level, almost anyone 18 and over can send in a letter of interest. Skimo Canada is open to all walks of life, genders and backgrounds age 18 and over. Here are a few ideal qualities and competencies we'd like to see:

Experience being a director, administrator or volunteer leader

Business planning knowledge

Business or corporate management

Demonstrated leadership skills within the non-profit sector or other areas

A love for sport and the outdoors (maybe even ski mountaineering)

We estimate the total commitment to be approximately 3-4 hours per week.
